The mind is man's most powerful and greatest tool.  The body is an instrument of the mind.

Hypnosis is a well-studied and legitimate way of addressing conditions such as obesity, anxiety and stress. It's also used for overcoming fears and phobias and for letting go of negative habits that have a serious impact on health, such as smoking. The National Institute of Health (NIH) has recommended hypnosis as an effective approach for anxiety, smoking cessation, and several medical conditions such as obesity. It is also endorsed by the American Psychological Association and the American Psychiatric Association.

Hypnosis has two stages - Induction and Suggestion.

Induction

During the induction stage, the subject is typically guided to quiet their mind and focus their attention so they can enter into a trance-like state of consciousness characterized by extreme suggestibility in order to bypass the conscious mind and peripheral awareness.

Suggestion

During the “suggestion” stage, the hypnotized client is under a heightened state of suggestibility. Words and the client's imagination are used to get them to envision hypothetical events and scenarios in order to reprogram the beliefs that form the basis of damaging behaviours.  The client is encouraged to perceive these imaginary events as real. The type of suggestions used are unique to the client and their unique situation.

Emotional trauma from the past is neutralized during the suggestion stage, allowing them to heal this trauma. When the client uses the mind to imagine things the way they would have wanted them to have unfolded, the subconscious portion of the mind accepts these newly created positive scenarios as real.

This neutralization of negative feelings associated with the original traumatic memories, frees the client from trauma, eliminates triggers, and liberates them from the limitations created by addictions and negative habits.
