Why Parasite Cleansing is Key to Your Health

Updated: 7 days ago

If you follow me on Instagram, you have likely seen the reel I shared about parasites that went viral. No pun intended. It got a lot of conversations going. Check it out here and let me know what you think, in the comments.

As you can see, the reel got 99,000 likes, 100,000 shares and 27,000 saves. I got flooded with DMs and emails asking questions about what can be done to get rid of them.

Well, first let me ask you, when you hear the word “parasite” what do you think of?

Most people think of something that only affects others—animals, people in faraway places, or those with poor hygiene. But in reality, parasites are a much more common health issue than many of us realize, and they affect anyone, regardless of age, race, location or lifestyle. In fact, did you know that parasites have killed more humans than all wars in history?? It’s true.

Parasites usually go undetected for years, wreaking havoc on the body without showing any obvious symptoms. These horrible, harmful invaders are a hidden epidemic, and they cause a multitude of health problems, like digestive issues, chronic fatigue, weakened immunity, and even cancer. Yes, that’s right—certain parasites are recognized as carcinogens and contribute to cancer development by damaging tissue, causing chronic inflammation, and releasing toxic by-products – this my friends means that they pee and poop inside of us, and their urine and feces are the toxic by-products.

The good news? By becoming informed about these invaders and learning how to cleanse the body effectively, you can protect your health and reverse the damage they’ve caused.

What Are Parasites, and How Do They Affect the Body?

A parasite is simply an organism that lives on or inside a host organism and survives - in fact it thrives, by feeding off that host. While some parasites are harmless, others are very detrimental to our health. Common types of parasites include protozoa, roundworms, and tapeworms, each with its own unique effects on the body.

The biggest issue with parasites is that they deplete the body of nutrients, create toxins, and impair organ function. They typically enter the body through contaminated food or water, from pets or other animals, or even through the skin. Unfortunately, once they’re in, they hide undetected for years, causing a wide range of symptoms that usually get misdiagnosed.

The most prevalent health issues parasites cause are:

Digestive problems

Parasites often live in the intestines, where they disrupt the natural balance of gut bacteria. They do this by consuming nutrients meant for the good bacteria, which weakens the overall microbiome. They also release toxins and inflammatory compounds that damage the intestinal lining, which makes it harder for the body to properly absorb nutrients from the food we eat. This imbalance usually leads to digestive symptoms like bloating, gas, diarrhea, and constipation, as the gut bacteria struggle to maintain a healthy environment.

Chronic fatigue

Parasites absorb essential nutrients from the food we eat before our bodies have a chance to utilize them, which leads to deficiencies in vitamins and minerals. This deprivation leaves us feeling fatigued and drained, as the body lacks the energy and resources needed to function optimally. Over time, this nutrient loss also weakens the immune system and further contributes to feelings of exhaustion.

Weakened immunity

Parasites place constant stress on the immune system by triggering ongoing inflammatory responses and releasing toxins that the body must continuously fight against. This prolonged, ongoing immune activation exhausts the immune system, reducing its ability to respond effectively to other pathogens. Additionally, parasites also interfere with immune cell function and even suppress immune responses, which makes the body more vulnerable to infections and illnesses over time, as it struggles to manage the presence of the parasites.

Joint and muscle pain

Parasites can migrate from the intestines to other parts of the body, such as muscles and joints, through the bloodstream or the lymphatic system. They do this by breaking through the intestinal wall and entering the circulatory or lymphatic system and being carried to other tissues. Once they reach their destination, they settle into muscle fibers or joint spaces. Once there, they trigger the immune system to respond to their presence, which leads to localized inflammation. How, you ask? Well, the immune response releases inflammatory chemicals that cause pain, swelling, and stiffness in the affected areas. And don’t forget that as parasites burrow themselves into the muscle tissue or joint spaces, they cause physical damage to the surrounding cells and tissues, which exacerbates discomfort and making movement painful.

Mental health issues

Parasites release neurotoxins and metabolic by-products that interfere with neurotransmitter function, which disrupts the body’s chemical messaging systems. These toxins trigger inflammation and oxidative stress in the brain, leading to symptoms like anxiety, depression, and brain fog. Parasite-related neurotoxins also impact sleep patterns, concentration, and memory, and even contribute to mood swings, irritability, and chronic fatigue. As the immune system responds to this invasion, it releases cytokines, which are signaling molecules involved in inflammation. This further impacts brain function, increasing susceptibility to mental health issues.

Are Parasites Linked to Cancer?

The short answer is YES. You’re probably thinking “What??? How??”

Well, when it comes to cancer prevention, one often overlooked area is parasite cleansing. Some parasites, like the liver fluke Opisthorchis viverrini, are classified as Group 1 carcinogens by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). What this means is that they have a direct link to cancer development. Parasites damage tissue, cause inflammation, and release toxic substances that harm cells and our DNA, creating the perfect environment for cancer to take root.

Chronic inflammation is a significant factor in cancer development, and parasites are a known cause of chronic inflammation. By taking steps to rid your body of these invaders, you not only improve your general health but also reduce your risk of cancer and other serious diseases.

How Do You Know If You Have Parasites?

Parasites can be very elusive, and many of the symptoms they cause can easily be mistaken for other conditions, and often are. So, if you’ve been dealing with unexplained health issues, particularly those related to digestion, energy, or immunity, it might be worth exploring the possibility of a parasite infection. Here are some signs to look out for:

  1. Digestive troubles: Persistent bloating, gas, or irregular bowel movements could indicate a parasite issue.

  2. Skin problems: Rashes, itching, and unexplained acne can sometimes be related to toxins released by parasites.

  3. Sleep issues: If you wake up frequently between 2 and 3 AM, it might be due to parasites, as they are often most active during this time.

  4. Anemia: Some parasites feed on the blood, leading to a deficiency in iron and other vital nutrients.

  5. Mental health symptoms: Brain fog, anxiety, or depression can sometimes be linked to parasitic infections due to the toxins they release.

Horrible, isn’t it? But there’s SO MUCH you can do.

The Benefits of Parasite Cleansing

Parasite cleansing is a detoxification process that targets and removes these harmful organisms from your body. It involves using specific herbs, supplements, and dietary practices to create an environment where parasites cannot survive.

Here are some of the benefits of a well-structured parasite cleanse:

  • Improved digestion: By clearing out parasites, you restore balance to your gut microbiome, which will alleviate bloating, gas, and other digestive issues caused by them.

  • Increased energy: Without parasites depleting your nutrients, you’ll notice a boost in energy and stamina.

  • Enhanced immunity: A parasite-free body is less burdened by toxins, which allows your immune system to function optimally, as it’s meant to.

  • Clearer skin: Many skin issues are tied to toxins in the body, so cleansing parasites will lead to clearer, healthier skin.

  • Better mental clarity: Freeing your body from the disgusting toxins that parasites release will help lift brain fog and improve focus, memory, and overall mental well-being.

How to Start a Parasite Cleanse

I’m sure that by now, you’re thinking “Ok, so how do I get these things out of my body?

A safe and effective parasite cleanse should be tailored to your body’s needs and lifestyle. Here are some must-do’s when beginning your parasite-cleansing journey:

Clean Up Your Diet

Start by eliminating processed foods, refined sugars, and alcohol, as these are favorites of parasites. Instead, focus on a nutrient-dense diet rich in vegetables, fruits, and whole foods. This step is crucial because a clean diet supports the body’s natural detoxification processes. In other words you’d be supporting your body’s innate ability to eliminate them as well.

Use Anti-Parasitic Herbs and Supplements

Herbs like wormwood, black walnut hull, and cloves are well-known for their anti-parasitic properties. Additionally, foods like garlic, papaya seeds, and pumpkin seeds can help flush out parasites. So, make sure you add these to your diet.

Increase Fiber Intake

Fiber helps you poop, so to sweep parasites and their eggs from the digestive tract, make sure to include plenty of high-fiber foods in your diet.

Stay Hydrated

Drinking plenty of water helps with the flushing out of toxins from the body. While you’re at it add a squeeze of fresh lemon for extra cleansing benefits, and some Vitamin C.

Focus on Probiotics

Probiotics help to repopulate your gut with healthy bacteria, which makes it harder for parasites to thrive. Foods like sauerkraut, kimchi, and kefir are excellent choices. I put sauerkraut in all my salads.
